Isle Joseph Leon Anderson, born on February 19, 1992, is a Southern California native, native to the streets of Fullerton and currently residing in Newport Beach. Isle began conquering waves and learning how to surf from a very young. Following in the footsteps of his Katin surf trunk-wearing father, Isle took to the water like a fish, and says he can still remember his first encounter with a long board and “how long 10' looks when you're only 3 or 4 feet tall.” True to his waterman spirit, Isle is also an avid swimmer, having swam in competitions for years. Now Isle strictly swims for himself and the kids he teaches on the Harbor View Swim Team. Isle also enjoys accessing his non-aquatic, more artistic side with block printing and various types of ink art, even dabbling in wood burning techniques. When Isle isn’t shredding on his longboard, coaching kids or dabbling in the arts, Isle prides himself on his company Huevos, an organic/vegan surf wax made here in California that promotes the simple practice of “1 bar of wax is equal to 1 gallon of clean drinking water.” Isle and Huevos use their profits to invest in water filters that are distributed around the world, from Mexico, Nicaragua and Tanzania to name a few.
